Our Story

A Tale of A Farmer and Her Dream

Nestled in the natural beauty of Thabazimbi, Healthy Harvest is the heart of a farm where sustainability, animal care, and wholesome living come together. Founded by Jennifer Rossouw, this passion-led venture is rooted in years of hands-on experience, a deep love for nature, and a commitment to a healthier way of living.

Nurturing Nature, Nourishing Life.

Jennifer was born and raised in Thabazimbi, where her connection to the land began early. With a background in finance and management, her journey took many turns—each one building on her curiosity and love for animals, wellness, and the land.

Over the years, she’s explored everything from wildlife veterinary work and sheep farming to sourdough baking, yoga, and bee farming.

All about Jennie

Our Farm Philosophy

Her diverse experience includes running a wildlife trading business, working as a wildlife vet assistant (specializing in buffalo and rhino), and launching ventures such as Beautiful Horns Taxidermy, Jen’s Wildflower, and The Seed Pod & Bush Hideaway—a farm-stay escape for nature lovers.

Healthy Harvest began with home-baked healthy Sourdough and has since grown into a vibrant space where coloured-egg chickens roam freely, and the focus remains on mindful, ethical, and nourishing practices. Jennifer brings her whole self to the farm—whether she's tending to her garden, making natural products, or simply sharing the land's abundance with others.

Outside of farming, Jennifer is passionate about yoga, meditation, pottery, and spending time with her two boys. Always eager to learn, she dreams of adding cheese making, candle making, and Ayurvedic massage to her ever-growing list of skills.

At Healthy Harvest, every egg, flower, and jar of honey tells a story of care, curiosity, and connection—to the land, the animals, and the people who visit.
